Nova Electric’s product mix consists primarily of Pure Sine Wave DC-AC Inverters, True On-Line UPS Systems, and Solid-State Frequency Converters. These AC Sources are normally sold off the shelf or ruggedized to satisfy harsh environment military applications. Military-grade models as shown are fully qualified to many standards such as MIL-STD-1399, MIL-STD-461, MIL-S-901, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-167, MIL-STD-740, DOD-STD-1399, MIL-STD-1275, and many others. In addition, most of Nova’s standard products can be modified or customized to meet specific requirements.
The Pure Sine Wave DC-AC Inverters span the 120VA to 320+ KVA power levels, in most standard nominal DC inputs including 12, 24, 36, 48, 72, 120, 155, 240, 600, and 750 VDC. AC Outputs offered include any standard single phase voltage (120 or 220 VAC) or three-phase voltage (120/208, 220/380, or 277/480 VAC), in 50 Hz, 60 Hz, or 400 Hz versions. Special frequencies (such as 100 Hz) for rail applications are available upon request. Our inverters are offered in freestanding, rack-mount, and NEMA cabinet configurations as required, though the standard enclosures are as shown.
The True On-Line UPS Systems are offered in 500W to 500+ KVA power levels, in any standard single phase voltage (120 or 220 VAC) or three-phase voltage (120/208, 220/380, or 277/480 VAC), in 50 Hz, 60 Hz, or 400 Hz versions. Most of our UPS Systems can also function as voltage / frequency converters, with the ability to convert a given single or three phase AC input to another single or three phase AC output, in conjunction with the usual battery back-up capabilities. Many models also offer a wide-range input function, which allows the UPS to operate automatically on either a 120 or 220 VAC, 50 or 60 Hz input voltage. Our UPS Systems are offered in freestanding, rack-mount, and NEMA cabinet configurations as required, with the standard enclosures are as shown.
The Solid-State Frequency Converters are available in 120 VA to 500+ KVA power levels, and can convert any standard single phase voltage (120 or 220 VAC) or three-phase voltage (120/208, 220/380, or 277/480 VAC) to another. Every model is available in 50 Hz, 60 Hz, or 400 Hz input or output. Alternative frequencies (such as 100 Hz for special railroad applications) are available upon request. All of these converters boast the superior reliability, reduced maintenance costs and noise levels, and more compact, lightweight dimensions that can only be achieved utilizing a modern solid-state design. These converters are offered in freestanding, rack-mount, and NEMA cabinet configurations as required, though the standard enclosures are as shown.
Related products such as Custom EMI Filters, Portable Rugged Transformers, Power Distribution Units (PDUs,) and Maintenance Bypass Switches (MBSs) are built to order, either based on existing standardized designs shown herein or as pure custom clean sheet designs.
Many of Nova Electric’s models feature sophisticated PWM technology, microprocessor control, comprehensive display panels, and advanced communications capabilities. All can be ruggedized against shock, vibration, and humidity to meet MIL-STD-810. These power sources are offered in a wide variety of standard COTS configurations, which can also be quickly customized per each customer’s unique application. However, for a majority of applications, the COTS products shown do not require any modification or customization.
Nova Electric resides within a 50,000 square foot factory complex in Bergenfield, NJ USA, 20 minutes from New York City. This plant includes all necessary facilities for the complete design, manufacturing, and testing of the power supplies, including: engineering R&D labs, printed circuit board stuffing and wiring harness stations, subassembly and transformer manufacturing, final assembly, and environmental and electrical testing. In addition, an in-house machine shop serves to produce customized sheet metal quickly and accurately. Having all facets of the design and production of our products under one roof ensures total quality and gives Nova Electric the ability to rapidly customize rugged AC Power Sources as required.
